The Nashville Symphony
As a graphic design specialist at within the Nashville Symphony’s communications department, I produce visual communications that support concerts and performers, fundraising, patron engagement, and organizational initiatives. My work includes brand identity, print and digital advertising materials, monthly print publications, and more.
80/20 Overture Brand Identity
80 years ago, the Nashville Symphony was established. 20 years ago, the Schermerhorn Symphony Center opened its doors as the home of the orchestra. I was given a tagline, “Every Gift Begins the Next Movement,” and asked to create a logo that could bring that idea to life.
Because the campaign was celebrating both the music and the building that has become its home, I wanted the brand identity to reflect both. I thought of two defining elements: the Schermerhorn’s arched windows and a conductor who leads each symphony.

Spirits of Summer

The building is filled with Neoclassical details, from the giant columns at the main entrance, to the gold angel-wing sculpture, and the Birth of Apollo sculpture at the center of our fountain. Using procreate, I illustrated a combination of real-life sculptures, textures and colors from the building, and bold colors.

Our development department requested that I create collateral for the Symphony’s annual fundraising event, Spirits of Summer. Four local bartenders compete by creating a drink inspired by the year’s theme and a piece of music from the Symphony. This year’s theme, Mythos & Melodies, was inspired by Greek mythology.
The external committee provided AI-generated images as inspiration, and I began incorporating an element that makes the Nashville Symphony unique: the Schermerhorn Symphony Center.
