Birmingham City Schools

Serving over 20,000 scholars, Birmingham City Schools is one of Alabama’s largest school districts. In 2018, the district welcomed a new superintendent, and a new logo. As a minority school district, the rebrand was centered around creating a more modern, eye-catching, and sophisticated symbol that would not only attract parents, but potential students as well. After working with Birmingham City Schools’ executive staff and a local branding agency to interview parents and students, we produced a new logo, color palette, and tagline. I was asked to expand the brand to deliverables: ID badges, district templates, business cards, and more.

#BCSStrong Campaign

The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic created a "new normal" for our schools, faculty, staff, and scholars. With the immediate switch to virtual learning, grab-and-go lunches, and social distancing, our superintendent created the #BCSStrong campaign to not only inform and empower our families, but to also inspire the community to stand together in midst of uncertainty.
